Module 5: Sex: Sodomy and Gay Marriage
Introduction
Perhaps none of the topics discussed in this course has received as much attention in the early years of this century as those associated with homosexuality. Though a great deal could be said about the history and legality of gay rights issues, our focus will be on two aspects of law directly related to homosexuality. First, we will look at the legality of gay sex given two conflicting Supreme Court decisions concerning sodomy. Second, we will look at the recent court decision in Massachusetts legalizing gay marriage in that state.
