Unit 6: Financial Crisis, the
IMF, and the World Bank
Introduction
In an ideal world nations would harmoniously co-exist in
the absence of financial crisis, and fortunate nations would
freely offer up their support to improve the economic conditions
of those in need. Obviously, however, this is not the case.
This unit explains the various types of financial crises
nations can experience and looks into the institutions that
are responsible for promoting financial stability and encouraging
economic development throughout the world.
