The School of Music, Theatre and Dance offers a variety of degree programs within the Bachelor of Arts, the Bachelor of Fine Arts, and the Bachelor of Music degrees. Prospective music majors and minors must audition for acceptance into music degrees and for approval of the major or principal performance area. Auditions are similarly required for admission into all degrees within the Department of Dance and for the B.F.A. degree in the Department of Theatre. For specific information concerning auditions and admissions procedures contact the Dance, Theatre, or Music Departments.

In addition to the degrees and courses housed within the five departments of The School of Music, Theatre and Dance (Dance, Music Education, Music Performance, Music Studies, and Theatre), a number of interdisciplinary courses in the performing arts are offered. Please see individual course prerequisites.

In support of the collaborative nature of the performing arts, The School of Music, Theatre and Dance is proud to house the Music Research Institute (MRi). The MRi is an interdisciplinary think tank that focuses on research related to music and music-making, and the implications of that research for the 21st century.
