2005: All Greek Reunion
The second Leaders and Legacies event was held September 24, 2005 as the Division of Student Affairs hosted a Greek Reunion. Over 300 alumni and guests participated in the Greek Reunion. Alumni participants represented seventeen of our nineteen current greek letter chapters. 11% of the alumni who attended the reunion were students in the 1980's, 35% were enrolled in the 1990's and 54% were recent alumni who graduated in the past five years.
Alpha Delta Pi had the largest representation, followed by Alpha Kappa Alpha, Phi Mu, and Lambda Chi Alpha. Two of the Alpha Delta Pi alumni who attended the reunion, Liz Daum Pendergrass and Jill Pavey Cofer, were UNCG students when the greek system began on campus in the early 1980's. Jill was also Alpha Delta Pi’s first chapter president. Alumni traveled from all over North Carolina as well as surrounding states to attend the reunion. One alumnus impressed the crowd when it was announced he had traveled from Hawaii to attend the event!
The day was filled with many opportunities to reconnect to UNCG, both the physical campus and with friends from college days. In addition, the reunion provided a great opportunity for our undergraduate students to connect to alumni members of their chapters.
