As I continued my college studies I decided to change my major to English because I wanted to become a newspaper editor. I began to take an active interest in politics. UNCG hosted various candidates and political organizations and this also increased my interest. I joined Student Government Association and was a charter member of Alpha Phi Omega.
I was privileged to be appointed to committees involving sports, residential life, and much more. All of these activities helped shape my current career interests, my extracurricular activities, religion, community service and much more. By allowing me to grow and to boldly have ideas and allow me to implement them has enabled me to be successful in my chosen profession.
UNCG nurtured me. There was a sense of community, friendship, security and support.I was the first female editor of the Mooresville Tribune.
During most of my career I have been in the position of being the first or the initiator of numerous positions, projects and initiatives. For instance I am the first person in this position for Concord - which is the 14th largest city in the state and hosts one of the largest sporting events in the country twice a year - the NASCAR races.
I have completed a masters in Public Administration from UNCC; and advanced certificates from UNC-CH and UNCC.Learn more about Student Leadership and Service.
