Minor in Philosophical Ethics

Required: minimum of 18 semester hours

AOS Code: U194

The Minor in Philosophical Ethics requires a minimum of 18 semester hours in philosophy including PHI 321 and three (3) additional courses from those listed below, with at least one of the three coming from each of the two categories:

  1. Applied Ethics: PHI 121, 220, 361, 363, 520
  2. Ethical Theory: PHI 119, 331, 335, 336, 338, 545

With the permission of both the instructor and the head of the philosophy department, the following courses may also count toward the completion of three classes in Applied Ethics and Ethical Theory (but may not be substituted for PHI 321): PHI 301, 351, 353, 402, 494. Students should be aware that permission will be granted only when the course focuses primarily on ethics.
