Please join the Office for Adult Student's first afternoon coffee of the semester next Tuesday, October 7th, at 5:00 PM in Charlie's Coffee House in the EUC. We will be hosting an informal conversation with new and returning adult students and will be providing each of our attending students with a coupon for free coffee!
The Student Government Association of The University of North Carolina at Greensboro will be holding an open Student Forum.
Greensboro, NC, October, 8, 2008: The Student Government Association is dedicated to hearing the concerns and ideas of the Student Body and this will be a great opportunity for students to participate and interact with their elected officials. Members of the Association will be available, including, but not limited to, President Michael Tuso, Vice President Andrea Schronce, Current Concerns Committee Chair, Candace Perkins, Publicity Committee Chair, Micah Beasley and several Senators.
The event will be held in the auditorium of the Curry Building, Curry 225. The event will take place from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. Light refreshments will be provided.
Registration for Summer and Fall 08 semesters is quickly approaching! In order to assist those adult students who have not been through registration before, we have made a presentation available with some tips, pointers, and important dates here. This presentation was originally made by Nancy Bucknall (from CASA) and has been adapted for adult students. For the Registrar's website on how to register for classes, please go here.
The UNCG Career Services Center and the Alumni Association are proud to sponsor Schmooza Palooza, an opportunity for current students to make connections and network with alumni and other professionals. This event will be on Monday, October 13 from 4:45-7:30 PM in EUC's Cone Ballroom. Laptop computers are available to borrow for use anywhere within the Jackson Library or the Music Library. Other laptops may be "rented" out for one week. For more information, ask at the Check-Out Desks or check out this web site. The laptops are equipped with standard software and are network-ready for accessing the UNCG wireless Internet service. Come and check one out!
UNCG's Parking Services offers a carpool organization system on their website. If you're looking for someone in your area to ride to school with please check out this website.
Campus Connect is an online blackboard organization for the Office for Adult Students. Participants can chat with one another, post questions to peers and share experiences.
This year, we are introducing sub-groups for students with specific interests which currently include Veterans, Pet Owners, Parents, Video Gamers, and Distance Learners.
To join, log into Blackboard and search for "Campus Connect" under organizations, or simply contact Joe Gullo with your name and he will enroll you!
