Hi, my name is Thomas, I am a sophomore at UNCG. I have been involved in leadership since I came to school.
When I got to campus I wanted to be involved, do a little bit more than just going to class and going home. So I looked up leadership on campus and I got involved with the Office of Leadership and Service/Learning.
Through that office I took Impact, it is a class for freshmen and sophomores. It deals with working with the community, expanding out, joining organizations, just making an impact on community.
And next year I will be taking a leadership connections class. It is for juniors and seniors and expands on the Impact class.
I am involved a lot on campus, the office has helped me get involved with the Dean of Students Office, the Student Veterans Association, and with the Campus Unity Council. Through the admission office I was a Spartan Guide who gave tours of the campus.
I have done a lot through the office, I have been able to do a lot on campus, help out a lot. It is a wonderful office, they offer a lot of help to students, and I would encourage everyone to go by the second floor of the EUC and see what they have to offer.
