Recipe Name:

Bellagoosa's Meatballs

Recipe Description:

Delicious meatballs in sauce, perfect over your favorite pasta!

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb. ground beef (80/20 works best)
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 5 cloves garlic, diced
  • 3/4 cup plain breadcrumbs
  • 3/4 cup parmesan cheese
  • 3 eggs
  • 1/2 teaspoon oregano
  • 1 teaspoon each salt & pepper
  • 1 48 oz jar of your favorite pasta sauce (red sauce)

Directions:

Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees. Combine all ingredients (except pasta sauce) in a large bowl. Do it by hand, it's fun. Form golf-ball sized meatballs by rolling mixture lightly in your hands. Place each meatball on a baking sheet, be careful that they do not touch. Bake for 45 minutes. Heat pasta sauce on medium-high heat in a Dutch-oven sized pan until it simmers. Reduce heat to low-medium and place meatballs in sauce. Simmer for 30 minutes, carefully stirring occasionally. Serve over your favorite pasta (I like thin spaghetti). Leftover meatballs freeze beautifully; wait for meatballs and sauce to cool, then transfer to a sealable plastic zipper bag. To reheat, thaw in refrigerator, then reheat on stove or in microwave. Also makes awesome meatball subs. Enjoy!
