We have determined that new adult students benefit from the opportunity to PREPARE for various aspects of their new academic journey. Five important workshops plus an Adult Student Forum have been planned. There is no fee for Get Set Saturday. The program includes a free lunch and free parking in the Walker Parking Deck.

9:00 - 10:05 AM: UNCG Online Workshop, Room 128, Bryan School
Learn about UNCG's online resources. These include the use of Blackboard as part of classroom instruction, how to use UNCGenie to register for classes, and how to access other important UNCG information and accounts.
10:15 - 11:05 AM: Read It; Write It; Cite It Workshop, Room 128, Bryan School
“Heads Up” synopsis about important citation requirements.
11:15 - 12:05 AM: Time Management Workshop, Room 104, Bryan School
A Time Management specialist will share ideas and strategies on increasing efficiency and effectiveness, skills important to adult students.

Knowing how you learn best is important information, and learning how to study for maximum gain prepares you for the semester ahead. An expert will share key ideas about studying and what skills you need to develop.
12:15 AM Free Lunch and Adult Student Forum, Cone Ballroom, EUC
Join your peers for an informal lunch and enjoy hearing from 'senior' adult students who will be sharing their advice and insights about their UNCG experiences.
2:15 - 3:05 PM: Reading a College Textbook Workshop Alexander Room, EUC
Learn what strategies work well for dealing with the large amount of reading which will be required, particularly textbooks.

From quizzes to exams, from true-false to essay questions, all students will have test. Explore techniques for sharpening your test-taking skills.
3:15 - 4:00 PM: Campus Bus Tour Traffic Circle next to EUC
For adult students unfamiliar with the campus, this tour will identify all classroom buildings (to make certain you can find your classes), visit all Park 'N Ride locations, and include additional information en route about other buildings and opportunities.
