Adult Student Definition

UNCG's Dean of Students Office defines an adult student as anyone who, in addition to attending UNCG, carries primary responsibilities for family, work, community, etc., and/or anyone 24 years of age or older seeking an undergraduate degree.

UNCG's Adult Student Population

To view a numerical breakdown of UNCG's current adult student population by criteria such as gender, ethnicity, GPA, and major, visit the Spring 2009 Adult Student Facts and Figures page.

To view a compilation of previous semesters' Facts and Figures visit the Previous Semesters, Fall 2002 through Spring 2009 page.

In an effort to connect Adult Students with each other, we have provided a count of Guilford County's Adult Students by Zip Code, accessible here. Additionally, information is provided about seeing membership in a car pool to UNCG.

Facts

Of those undergraduate students who graduated Summa Cum Laude in December of 2006, 50% were adult students. 41.3% of those graduating Magna Cum Laude were adult students and 41.79% of those graduating Cum Laude were adult students. This is impressive considering that adult students make up approximately 22% of the total undergraduate population.
