| UNCG is committed to the development and training of its employees. Training and development activities include University-sponsored workshops, lectures, symposia, the Academic Assistance Program (Educational Assistance Program), Tuition Waiver Program, and the Division of Continual Learning. These opportunities for professional and personal growth by employees promote the University's general educational mission |

| T&D programs offered on campus and through the Office of State Personnel should be used for professional and personal development and to prevent and/or address performance problems. T&D serves as a resource that can be added to an employee PMP. |

Visit the HRS Training & Development Website or the TLC Calendar of Workshops for information on training opportunities currently available. |
Supervisory training conducted by HRS is mandatory for all supervisors of SPA employees (optional for others).
All managers and supervisors must complete the Equal Employment Opportunity (EEOI) Training within their first year of appointment or promotion.
Most training & development opportunities are free of charge. |
What if UNCG does not conduct training on a topic that I need training on?
Contact the campus training coordinator in HRS to find opportunities that should meet your needs. If UNCG or OSP is not training on a certain topic, it may be possible to utilize the Tuition Waiver or Educational Assistance Programs to seek opportunities elsewhere. Another option may be that HRS custom creates a program to meet your needs.
