What is an Employee Assistance Program?
As part of your employee benefit package, the EAP provides assistance and resources to help you deal with a wide variety of personal difficulties. North Carolina's State Employee EAP is provided by Deer Oaks. Trained counselors are ready to help you solve your problems so that you can maintain a sense of well-being and workplace productivity. The EAP offered by UNCG is confidential and the first consulting session is free to beneifts eligible employees and their families.
What issues are addressed by the EAP
The EAP offered by UNCG can address a number of issues including (but not limited to):
- Drug and/or alcohol addiction,
- Personal financial problems,
- Counseling on personal legal issues,
- Dealing with stress,
- Resolving marital problems,
- Coping with tragedy,
- Quitting smoking,
- Coping with Grief,
- Domestic Violence, and
- more.
