College credit is given in semester hours whereas high school credit is given in Carnegie units for each course each year. Each UNCG course carries 3 hours of credit. Thus, if a student is taking Sociology 101, Psychology 121, and Philosophy 121, they can earn a total of 9 credit hours. Your high school will determine how many high school credits you receive per course.
Most students who have taken UNCG courses through the iSchool program and who have earned a C or higher have been successful in transferring their credit to other colleges and universities. Based on surveys of former students, the credit transfer success rate is about 93%. No institution of higher education can guarantee that its credit will transfer to every school; the decision to accept transfer credit will always belong to the institution receiving that credit. If you have a question about a specific course or college, we recommend that you call the admissions office at the college(s) you want to attend and ask if they accept transfer credit from UNCG.
Due to technical issues, access to some online courses is currently unavailable. Access will be restored as soon as possible.
