UNCGenie

Function

The UNCGenie system allows you to get administrative services such as registering for courses, adding/dropping courses, viewing academic records, changing personal information, changing your PIN number, and so on.

Activation

Your UNCGenie account is automatically created, and you have access to it as soon as you enroll in a degree program at UNCG.

Default username and password

Username. Your University ID is needed to access UNCGenie. You can use the University ID Lookup feature https://uncg.edu/Accounts/University_ID/Lookup/default.aspx if you forget your ID number.

Password. The password for UNCGenie is your 6-digit PIN (Personal Identification Number). Your PIN number is generally your birthday backwards. For example, if your birthday is February 03, 1980, your default password is 800302.

Tip: If you make 3 unsuccessful UNCGenie log-in attempts or answer your security question incorrectly 3 times, your PIN will be disabled. You must call 6-TECH (336-256-8324) to get your account enabled and PIN reset.

Access

You can log into UNCGenie through the UNCG Website home page by clicking the UNCGenie button in the upper right corner. You can also access it through the DCL Web site, or the UNCG iCampus Web site.

Changing password

Forgot password: If you forgot your PIN, follow the instructions below.

1) Click on the Secure Area link inside UNCGenie.

2) Type your University ID into the appropriate field.

3) Click the Forgot PIN button directly underneath and follow the instructions you will find there.
