Interlink Language
Center

Offers intensive English classes for non-UNCG students who are high school graduates.
Focuses on second language acquisition.
Costs $2080 for nine-week course plus $325 university fee for student services/resources.
Hosts a website with ESL links to online lessons in grammar, writing, reading, vocabulary, spelling and pronunciation.

International Programs Center

Provides orientation, workshops, social events, and community referrals for international students and scholars.

Writing Center

Provides one-on-one writing consultation for all UNCG students by walk-in or appointment.
Staff providing consultations receive some training in ESL.

Special Support Services

An educational support program sponsored by the U.S. Department of Education and UNCG
Provides academic, counseling, and advisement services to undergraduate students.
Services include (1) a professionally supervised skills lab for enhancement of reading, test taking, and study proficiency as well as computer literacy and word processing, (2) individual and small group tutoring, and (3) academic, career, personal, and graduate school counseling and advisement.

English Conversation Club

Opportunity for speakers of English as a Second Language to get together and practice their English listening and speaking skills.
Allows for a forum of cultural exchange; speaking topics often include food, holidays, and general cultural customs.
Occasional organized group activities.

ESOL Computer Lab

Opportunity to learn and practice English on the computer with self-paced and individualized programs.
No experience necessary; a teacher is always available.

Women's Literacy Class

Class has two levels: beginning and intermediate.
A class for women who want to learn English by reading, writing, speaking, and listening.

Offers beginning, intermediate, and advanced level classes for students to improve their speaking, listening, writing, reading, and comprehension skills.
Also includes courses in TOEFL preparation and citizenship.
Courses are free, but in high demand with limited spaces.
