Asking for Help
Remember that everyone needs help and support while acquiring new knowledge and skills. Our technical support group welcomes your questions. Our courses include many resources that you can consult for assistance, but if you can’t find what you’re looking for, don’t be afraid to ask.
- Know when you need help. You need to be conscious of your need for help. For example, if you don’t know how to structure your term paper.
- Formulate your questions precisely. To find answers to questions more easily, it is helpful to determine the kind of question you have. Try to be precise when formulating your question.
- Choose the appropriate resource. Well-defined questions help determine the best resource. For example, you might find help concerning
how to structure your term paper by consulting the writing
center on iCampus.
- Use available written resources first. Look
for answers to your questions in the help documents on
UNCG iCampus first. If you don’t
find what you need in written documents, contact
our friendly instructors and tech staff.
- Use the Help directory. You will find
a list with contact information for help personnel
in our Help Directory. You will also find the Help Directory in the shaded gray area at the top right of every page.
- Be persistent until you find the appropriate answer. If you don’t find the answer on your first attempt, keep trying. If the person you contact doesn’t know how to answer your question, ask “Who can I contact to get help with this?”
