UNCG is attracting some serious sports fans.
The men's basketball team has a new home court – the Greensboro Coliseum. On game days, students, faculty, and staff break out their finest blue and gold attire and cheer on the Spartans against teams such as Davidson, Wake Forest, NC State, and Maryland.
But men's basketball is not the only team that Spartan fans have to cheer about. UNCG's 18 Division I teams compete in the Southern Conference.

If varsity sports aren't your thing, there are still plenty of ways to stay fit, meet people, and have fun at UNCG. Club sports include football, ice hockey, kendo, rugby, soccer, badminton, disc golf, equestrian, swimming, tennis, ultimate Frisbee, and volleyball. Intramurals are popular on campus, too – choose from flag football, indoor and outdoor soccer, volleyball, basketball, and softball.
Campus Recreation offers a variety of workout options, both on campus and off. You can sign up with Outdoor Adventures to go hiking, biking, kayaking, backpacking, or caving. And if you're looking for a challenge on campus, you can tackle THE EDGE, a 38-foot indoor climbing wall at the Student Recreation Center.
