To ensure that your acceptance remains in effect, please note the following requirements. Failure to meet the conditions of your admission may result in the cancellation of your admission. If you have any questions about this information, please contact the Office of Admissions immediately.
Freshman Conditions
Have your high school send an official copy of your final transcript to the Office of Admissions
upon your graduation. This transcript is due July 15 for students enrolling in the fall semester,
January 3 for spring semester.
Complete all requirements for high school graduation.
Successfully complete all of the UNCG high school course requirements: English (4 units), Foreign Language (2 units of one foreign language), Mathematics (4 units - algebra I and II, geometry, one advanced course beyond Algebra II), Science (3 units), and Social Science (2 units - one unit must be US History).
Upon receipt of the final official high school transcript, the Office of Admissions will review grades and courses completed to verify your eligibility for admission. We expect you to maintain or improve your grades during the remainder of your senior year. You must also provide an official college transcript if you have completed any college work prior to enrolling at UNCG.
Transfer / 2Plus Student Conditions
Have an official college transcript, showing all college/university credits earned sent directly to the Office of Admissions immediately after the semester or quarter ends. (If you attend a summer session at another institution, you must have that institution's registrar forward an official copy of your transcript at the end of the summer session.) Deadline for admitted students to submit final transcripts is July 15 for fall semester, January 3 for spring semester. Summer session transcripts must be received by August 15.
Complete studies with an overall and transferable average of 2.0 on a 4.0 scale as calculated by UNCG on all course work attempted prior to enrolling at UNCG.
Successfully complete any specific courses required to meet the UNC system-wide minimum admissions subject requirements.
2Plus students must finish their AAS degrees prior to enrolling.
Upon receipt of final official transcripts, the Office of Admissions will review these records to verify your eligibility for admission.
Admission to the University does not guarantee selection into any area of study. Some professional schools and majors have special additional admission requirements.
Freshmen: Please see the special instructions listed below for admission to programs in Dance, Interior Architecture, and Music. For other programs with special requirements, your admission will be determined based upon your completion of required courses and academic performance at UNCG. Your advisor will assist you in planning your course of study.
Transfers: If you plan to major in any of the areas listed below, it is essential that you contact the appropriate school or department to discuss the requirements for admission to the major.
Bryan School of Business & Economics (all programs)
Credit will be awarded for satisfactory scores on most College Board Advanced Placement (AP) exams and International Baccalaureate (IB) exams upon receipt and approval of your official scores. To request your AP scores, contact the College Board at (609) 771-7300 or call toll free at (888) 225-5427. To request IB scores, contact the International Baccalaureate at (212) 696-4464.
Register for summer classes
If you plan to attend summer session at UNCG, you must contact the Summer Session Office. A copy of the Summer Session Bulletin may be obtained after March 1st by contacting the Summer Session Office at (336) 315-7044 or online at www.uncg.edu/dcl.
If you wish to attend summer session at another institution, you must have your courses approved by the Office of Admissions. Prior approval guarantees that your credits will transfer. Should you not maintain a 2.0 or better average (on a 4.0 scale) on all work attempted, your admission to the University may be jeopardized.
