More than half of UNCG's students receive some type of financial assistance , and awards to eligible UNCG students in 2007-2008 totaled more than $105 million in the form of grants, scholarships, loans, or work-study jobs.
In order to be considered for these types of assistance, students and their parents must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) as soon as possible after January 1 . The FAFSA is available online , in high school guidance offices, and in college financial aid offices.
UNCG's Merit Awards Program offers academically talented incoming freshmen prestigious scholarships that range in value from $2,500 to full tuition, fees, room, and board. Some even include grants for a study abroad experience. The Merit Award application deadline is January 5 , and a completed application for admission must be received by that date. Applications are available online at www.uncg.edu/fia or by contacting the Financial Aid Office at (336) 334-5702.
