Transfer Student Information
In recent years, 30 percent of our graduates started their college programs at other institutions. In fact, we enroll more than 1,000 new transfer students each fall. Online resources for transfer applicants are available at http://web.uncg.edu/adm/transfer.
Traditional transfer applicants are expected to:

- Have a minimum overall and transferable grade point average of 2.0 as calculated by UNCG for consideration in the admissions process
- Be eligible to return to the last institution attended
- Meet the UNC-System Minimum Course Requirements (MCR) for high school preparation including:
- English: 4 units (emphasis on grammar, composition, and literature).
- Math: 4 units including algebra I, geometry, algebra II, and one advanced course beyond algebra II. The fourth unit of math is required for students who graduate from high school in 2006 and beyond.**
- Science: 3 units including one unit of life or biological science, one unit of physical science, and one laboratory course.
