- UNCG was ranked for the ninth year in a row among the nation's top colleges in the 2008 edition of The Princeton Review's The Best 366 Colleges guide.
- UNCG is one of the nation's 165 best value undergraduate institutions according to the 2008 edition of America's Best Value Colleges published by The Princeton Review.
- For the third year in a row, UNCG is among the 100 best public education values in the United States, according to Kiplinger's Personal Finance. The annual ranking lists the top 100 public schools that "combine outstanding value with a first-class education."
- UNCG is one of the Princeton Review's 146 Best Southeastern Colleges.
- The School of Education was again ranked among the best in the nation, according to the 2007 rating of graduate schools by U.S. News & World Report.

Outstanding Chapter Named
UNCG's Phi Beta Kappa Chapter was named the most
outstanding chapter at a public university by the National Phi Beta
Kappa Society. UNCG is one of only six colleges or universities in
North Carolina approved to have a chapter of Phi Beta Kappa.
New Buildings on Campus
Two new academic buildings opened in fall 2006: the $17.6 million Gatewood
Studio Arts Center provides 99,000 square feet of classroom, studio,
and office space for the Departments of Interior Architecture and Art, and the
$16.9 million Moore Hall for Humanities and Research
Administration has 86,000 square feet in capacity for various
departments in The College of Arts and Sciences.
