Just a mile from campus, Greenboro's downtown area is bustling with activity -- and home to one of Greensboro's newest parks, Center City Park. This creatively landscaped urban park features work from local artists and offers free WiFi.


Greensboro Arboretum

Greensboro is known for its award-winning collection of parks. If you're a fan of flowers and other plant life, the Greensboro Arboretum is a must-see. The 17-acre arboretum is a great place to take a scenic stroll and enjoy the weather.

You don't have to be a big sports fan to enjoy an evening at NewBridge Bank Park, home of the Greensboro Grasshoppers. In addition to some exciting minor league baseball, there are fireworks, special promotions for kids, and of course, plenty of hot dogs to eat as you cheer on the Hoppers!


Natural Science Center

The Natural Science Center offers something for kids of all ages - dinosaur and other science exhibits, daily shows in an Omnisphere theater, and a new zoo featuring tigers, monkeys, meerkats, and wallabies. And right next door is Country Park, which offers walking and biking trails, paddle boating, playgrounds, and even a special area just for dogs called BarkPark.

Did you know that Greensboro is the home of the largest water park in the Carolinas? With more than three dozen rides and attractions, Emerald Pointe offers everything from five-story water slides to special areas for kids.

Want to do a little golfing while you’re in town? Bryan Park features two 18-hole public golf courses, a golf practice and learning facility, and a pro shop. You can even book your tee times online (just visit the park's Web site, linked above).
