Former students are students who have previously attended UNCG (without completing a degree) during a regular academic term, summer session not included. If you did complete a degree at UNCG or another institution, please see our Second Degree page.
If you have attended another institution, please submit official transcripts from all schools attended since leaving UNCG. Students must have an overall and transferable 2.0 GPA on coursework attempted since leaving UNCG in order to be considered for readmission. If you were not in good academic standing at the time you left UNCG, please refer to the frequently asked questions below regarding readmission.

Students must clear all holds from their record, if applicable.**A new process implemented by the UNC system requires us to request additional information regarding campus safety questions, if needed. If an application is received without reasonable time to collect this information, it may be deferred to the next application term.
The Office of Undergraduate Admissions must receive all application materials by the dates listed.
Returning students will need to see an academic advisor before registering for classes. Information will be sent prior to registration times.
If you leave the University under academic probation and choose to sit out a semester, you must submit a Former Student Application. If you attend another post-secondary institution after leaving UNCG, you must have an overall and transferable 2.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale to meet readmission requirements. Upon returning to UNCG, freshmen (students with fewer than 30 credit hours) must earn a cumulative GPA of 1.75 or higher. Sophomores, juniors, and seniors need to earn a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher. Failure to meet the required GPA levels will result in academic suspension. Academic suspension is for one semester. Once this time period is over, you must submit a former student application. If you attend other post-secondary institutions after leaving UNCG, you must have an overall and transferable 2.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale to meet readmission requirements. Upon returning to UNCG, you must earn a minimum GPA of 2.3 each semester until you have restored academic good standing. Academic dismissal is for one year. After sitting out for one calendar year (12 months), you may appeal your academic dismissal to the office of Student Academic Services. Please submit a Former Student Application to The Office of Undergraduate Admissions prior to the application deadline. Student Academic Services will contact you to schedule an interview following the receipt of your appeal. If your appeal and application is approved, you will enter the University on academic probation. You must earn a minimum GPA of 2.3 each semester until you have restored academic good standing.
