UNCG Profile
UNCG was founded in 1891 as a school for women. The university has been coed since the 1960s and is one of the three original institutions of the consolidated University of North Carolina system. UNCG is the 5th largest school in the UNC system, with more than 13,000 enrolled in undergraduate programs. Overall, there are more than 17,000 students at UNCG.
Undergraduates can choose from more than 100 majors and programs. The most popular choices are Music, Nursing, Education, and Business. Other popular programs include Interior Architecture, Professions in Deafness, and Broadcasting/Media Studies. There are more than 80 programs for students wishing to pursue a graduate degree.
