Charles Duncan McIver

Charles McIver StatueA bronze statue of UNCG's founder and first president, Charles Duncan McIver (known to students as Charlie), stands near the center of the campus in front of Jackson Library. An identical statue of McIver stands on the Capitol grounds in Raleigh and is the only one honoring a North Carolinian who is not a military or political leader.
