Undergraduate Admissions

 

Apply to UNCGUNCG Students

Listed below are the different ways to apply for admission to UNCG. The application process is the same for day and evening programs. Please be aware that several of our programs require a secondary admissions process to the particular program. See below for a listing of the programs with special admissions requirements.

Please see our application deadlines to make sure you have everything complete on time.

All domestic applicants must submit:

  • Application and fee
  • Official high school transcript and GED scores or adult high school diploma, if applicable (not required for 2Plus or second-degree seeking applicants)
  • Official scores from the SAT or ACT, including the writing component (required for freshmen and transfers with fewer than 30 college transfer hours). Request that official scores be forwarded to UNCG directly from the testing agency. (For the SAT, UNCG's school code is 5913; for the ACT, the school code is 3166.
  • Official college transcripts from any post-secondary institution(s) attended, even those granting summer, extension, developmental, and technical credit.
  • International Students should visit the International Programs Center for additional requirements.

  • New students may APPLY ONLINE or download a PDF paper application.
  • Former students may APPLY ONLINE or check back soon for a PDF application.
  • International students must apply using the International Student Application.
  • Please note: As of June 2009, Undergraduate Admissions no longer offers admission deferrals. If you wish to apply for a subsequent semester, you must reapply and submit a new application fee. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
Special Requirements

Dance - Freshmen and Transfers

All prospective Dance majors must participate in a selective admissions process.

Interior Architecture - Freshmen and Transfers

Interior Architecture has limited enrollment. Application must be made through the Department.

Liberal Studies (Humanities Concentration) - Transfers

Admission to the Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies online degree completion program is a two-step process. Prospective students must have a minimum of sixty transferable college credits with an overall and transferable GPA of 2.0 or better. After being accepted to the University, the student's transcripts are reviewed by the directors of the program and the student is accepted into the program if the requirements are satisfied.

Music - Freshmen and Transfers

An audition is required for admission to the music major or minor.

Nursing - Transfers

Pre-licensure students must be formally admitted to the School of Nursing, which is an upper division major. Admission to UNCG does not guarantee admission into the BSN program. Pre-nursing students must be in the process of completing all required prerequisite courses before applying to the upper division, including NUR 210 (fall only) & NUR 220 (spring only.) Registered Nurses in the RN to BSN program are not required to submit a separate application to the School of Nursing. If you have questions, please contact the School of Nursing.
