"We have a 'charged' atmosphere here. It's an electricity that fosters critical thinking and innovation in all that we do: interior environments, products, and graphics, digital imaging, historic preservation, and exhibit design." Tommy Lambeth, Department Chair
"Design education at UNCG is a partnership in design exploration between students and faculty. A design workstation assigned to every student, accessible twenty-four hours a day, and studios of 18 students or fewer, maximizes the quality time faculty can spend individually with each student.
Design education is interactive and takes place in a studio environment where students share experiences with one another, argue and debate theoretical and philosophical issues, and help each other with design skills and drawing techniques. Working in the studio increases students' exposure to and contact with faculty." Novem Mason, Professor
