A student pursuing a second degree must select a different major from the first degree. The first degree must have been earned at a regionally accredited college or university. Second degree students are not required to complete general education core requirements (GEC), but must complete courses required for the major (both in the department and cognate areas). Students must meet the UNCG residency requirement (31 hours on our campus). Courses from a first degree can apply to the second degree.
The Office of Undergraduate Admissions must receive all application materials by the dates listed.
NOTE: A new process implemented by the UNC system requires us to request additional information regarding campus safety questions, if needed. If an application is received without reasonable time to collect this information, it may be deferred to the next application term.
